Lexington, KY - With all the news about President Obama's stimulus package that has been approved by Congress, there's a lot talk about stimulus money being released….the con artists are onto it, too. They would have you believe that there is PLENTY to go around…
When we Googled "economic stimulus" on the Internet, we saw a lot of offers that looked pretty promising.
One said we could use the money for home repair, paying bills, whatever we want!
But according to the Better Business Bureau in Las Vegas, the company whose site we were on, Grant Funding Search has an F rating…there are 38 unanswered consumer complaints on file.
Another one we found was www.GrantOneDay.com. It asks for information and a credit card number so they can send information for just two dollars! Not bad….but look at the fine print. This is a trial membership, which, if not cancelled within 7 days, will charge 94 dollars a month as a membership fee? Who is bailing out who here?
Your Better Business Bureau has warned you of government grant scams, and how you would not be charged money for a grant…and the stimulus money that IS being released is NOT for individuals to use to buy new cars or pay off mortgages or take trips.
Don't be fooled by sites that are trying to gain credibility by fraudulently using the logos of news organizations or even the BBB. Check it out with us. If you come across some offers like these….don't fall for it!
