"iJango" Business Opportunity

8/19/2009

Lexington, KY - In a tough economy, a business opportunity that appears to promise big money may look like a good deal….but you need to research carefully before getting involved. There's a recently launched business opportunity that is popping up all over the U.S. and in Kentucky according to inquiries at your Better Business Bureau.

It's called iJango. It says participants can pay $50 dollars to join the program, but then recommends paying a $150 dollar enrollment fee plus a monthly maintenance fee.

Texas based iJango says participants can earn commissions by recruiting registered customers to generate web traffic through their IJango web "portals"…..and by recruiting others to purchase the same opportunity.

The Austin, Texas BBB issued an alert that the company might be conducting a pyramid. That BBB has received over a thousand inquiries about the company in two weeks.

That BBB has also been unable to confirm that iJango has web traffic agreements with some companies like Rhapsody and Google, as the company claims.

The BBB and the Federal Trade Commission advise the following if you are considering ANY business opportunity:
  • If more emphasis is placed on earning money by recruiting others and little or none on selling a product or service, use caution.
  • Check out the company with the BBB.
  • If it involves selling products or services from well-known companies, call those companies and verify it.
  • Research it first. Beware if high-pressure tactics are used to get you to sign up right now.

If you run into any business opportunity that does not want to let you check it out first and sounds too good to be true, don't fall for it.
